July 22, 2018 - Northwest League (NWL1)
Tri-City Dust Devils News Release
In front of 3,009 fans at Gesa Stadium on Sunday night the Tri-City Dust Devils (17-19) could not complete the comeback as the team lost 2-1 in ten innings to the Eugene Emeralds (14-22). With the loss the Dust Devils remain two games back of the Everett AquaSox in the North Division with two games remaining in the first half.
Tri-City received strong pitching throughout the night. The team's starting pitcher Angel Acevedo delivered a quality start, allowing only one run in six innings of work. His only mistake was allowing a solo home run to Jonathan Sierra in the top of the fourth inning. The Dust Devils produced their lone run of the game in the fifth inning. Aldemar Burgos scored on Owen Miller's two-out triple. After Miller's clutch hit, the offense was silenced by the Emeralds the rest of the night. The last 16 Tri-City batters of the game were retired in order. After Eugene scored in the top of the tenth inning, the Dust Devils were unable to answer back.
Right-hander Henry Henry will start the fourth game of the five-game series on Sunday night. The Emeralds will counter with left-hander Brailyn Marquez. It will be Christmas in July Night at Gesa Stadium. Great seats are available by calling the Dust Devils' front office at (509) 544-8789 or by going to www.dustdevilsbaseball.com to purchase tickets.
