Dust Devils Defeat Emeralds Despite Being Out-Hit

After both teams combined to score at least fourteen runs in each of the previous two games, the offenses cooled off in the Tri-City Dust Devils' 4-1 win over the Eugene Emeralds (14-10) Saturday night at Gesa Stadium. Tri-City (12-12) had five hits compared to Eugene's seven hits on the night. The Dust Devils got all the offense they needed in the second inning, as they scored two runs on bases loaded walks.

Tri-City starting pitcher Travis Radke (2-2) was great in the win for the Dust Devils, pitching six innings, giving up just one run on six hits while striking out eight batters. Corey Kimber got his second save of the season, pitching one inning while striking out two batters.

Austin Allen, Ty France and Carlos Belen had RBIs for the Dust Devils with one apiece. Mitch Morales had two hits in the win for Tri-City.

The two Ians, Happ and Rice, both had two hits for the Emeralds in the loss. Matt Rose had the lone RBI of the game for Eugene.

Starting pitcher Ryan Kellogg had a short outing for the Emeralds. Kellogg pitched two innings, giving up just one hit while striking out one batter and walking two. Greyfer Eregua did the majority of the pitching for Eugene in relief. Eregua pitched four innings, striking out four while giving up one hit and one walk. Adbert Alzolay (1-2) took the loss for the Emeralds, pitching one inning, while giving up two runs on one hit and striking out two batters along with three walks.

The Dust Devils and Emeralds will play the fourth game of their five game series Sunday night at Gesa Stadium. The promotion will be Bark in the Park, where fans can bring their dogs to the ballpark to enjoy the game.
