TULSA, OK - The Oilers outshot and out-chanced the Bloomington Blaze on Friday night but ran into another hot goaltender. Blaze netminder Dan Dunn turned aside 36 Tulsa shots as the Oilers dropped a 4-2 decision in front of 5,316 at the BOK Center.

After a scoreless first period, a fortunate bounce gave Bloomington the lead at 6:33 of the second period. Sebastien Trudeau's shot was stopped by Tulsa goalie Shane Madolora but the rebound caromed off the mid-section of Kyle Bochek and into the net. A pair of costly Oilers turnovers allowed the Blaze to break the game wide open with less than five minutes remaining in the middle frame. First, Niklas Lindberg scooped up a loose puck and center ice and scorched a wrist shot over the shoulder of Madolora to give the visitors a 2-0 edge. Just 28 seconds later, Tyler Gron, who leads all CHL rookies in goals and points, created a breakaway and beat Madolora through the five-hole. In the final seconds of the period, Oilers winger Ryan Menei freed the puck behind the Blaze net and fed Ben Gordon in front who put the Oilers on the board when his shot slid past Dunn. The Oilers, now 0-20-2 on the season when trailing after two periods, found themselves down 3-1 entering the third.

Drew Fisher's powerplay tally at 14:16 pulled Tulsa back within a goal, but from there, Dunn shut the door. The Blaze goalie made 14 saves in the third period and recorded his fifth win of the season as Bloomington improved to 8-8-0 on the road. Steve Makway added a late empty net goal to finish the scoring.

The Oilers fell to 0-5-0 this season against Bloomington and dropped to 6-7-3 on home ice. Tulsa, which outshot Bloomington 38-24, is now only 2-6-2 when outshooting the opposition.

The Oilers are back in action at 4:05 p.m. on Sunday afternoon when they host the Fort Worth Brahmas.
