Flint Generals News Release
FLINT, MI - The Flint Generals of the United Hockey League announce that popular right winger Jim Duhart returns to the club after a trade with the Danbury Trashers. In return, the Generals send forward Neil Posillico, the rights to defenseman Tom Menicci and future considerations to the Trashers, effective immediately.
Duhart returns to the Generals for his fourth tour of duty after starting the season with the Trashers. In 16 games, Duhart had seven goals and five assists for twelve points with the Trashers. Duhart did not appear in the last four Danbury games, including two last weekend against the Generals.
Forward Neil Posillico, a 3-year pro, appeared in one game for the Generals this season accumulating 34 penalty minutes and has been out due to injury. Flint acquired the rights to defenseman Tom Menicci as a part of the off-season trade with Danbury. Menicci has not appeared in a regular season game this season but had spent the last two seasons with the United League's Quad City Mallards.
Duhart, a 33-year-old native of Ottawa, ONT has been one of the prolific goal scorers in recent years in the United Hockey League. Duhart was the league leader with 56 goals with the Flint Generals last season. Duhart is the league leader in career games played (724) and 1st in UHL penalty minutes (1972) among active players. Duhart is second league career goals scored (402) to the Generals' Kevin Kerr (454).
Among Generals' team career records, Duhart is 1st in games played (424), 2nd in goals scored (225), and 3rd in points (437). Duhart is 5th in game-winning goals (18), 2nd in penalty minutes (1036), 3rd in power play goals (74) and 4th in short-handed goals (15).
"Bringing Jim Duhart back to the Generals is great for our organization and the fans," said Vice President/Head Coach, Robbie S. Nichols. "Duey is a very dangerous offensive threat that will add another key element to our hockey club. He is a leader and he knows what it takes to win. Duhart is also a fan favorite. He belongs here. His record speaks for itself. We are very happy to have Jim Duhart back with us."
Duhart is expected to be in the line-up on Friday, December 3, 2004 as the Generals hosts the Rockford Icehogs at 7:35 p.m. Tickets are on sale at any TicketMaster location for $13.00, $11.00 & $9.00.
