
Flint's Rob Valicevic and Danbury's Scott Stirling Win Monthly Honors

LAKE ST. LOUIS, MO--- The United Hockey League (UHL) announced Wednesday that Flint Generals right wing Rob Valicevic has been named Sher-Wood UHL Player of the Month and Danbury Trashers goaltender Scott Stirling has been named Southern Sports Supply UHL Goaltender of the Month for the month of November.
Valicevic completed the month with 18 points (8g, 10a) and a plus-fourteen rating in thirteen games. Solid at both ends of the ice, he is tied for the league lead in short-handed goals (3), and is tied for second in game-winning goals. The 33-year-old Detroit, Michigan native also notched three power play goals this month helping to lead the Generals in their fight for first place in the Central Division.
Other players nominated for the Sher-Wood UHL Player of the Month include: Adirondack left wing Hugo Belanger, Danbury center Bruce Richardson, Elmira center Greg Koehler, Fort Wayne center Colin Chaulk, Kalamazoo center Andrew Luciuk, Kansas City right wing Joe Seroski, Missouri defenseman Mat Snesrud, Motor City forward Joe Burton, Muskegon center Jeff Nelson, Port Huron left wing David Beauregard, Quad City center Mike Kompon, Richmond center David Hymovitz, and Rockford left wing J.F. Dufour.
Stirling finished the month with a 6-1-1 record, a 2.13 GAA, and .942 save percentage. He is tied for first in the league with ten wins and is tied for second with two shootout wins. In the month of November he stopped 274 shots with only 17 goals against. The 27-year-old Norwood, Massachusetts native is tied for second in the league with a .800 shootout percentage, fourth in minutes (898) and second in the league with 490 saves.
