Ducks Power to 7-2 Win over Patriots

Bridgewater, NJ - The Long Island Ducks (17-9, 47-42) defeated the Somerset Patriots (19-9, 54-37) 7-2 at TD Bank Ballpark on Monday evening.

The Ducks jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning on an RBI single by Travis Snider and a two-run home run by Taylor Ard (13).

The Patriots cut the lead in the bottom of the fourth inning on a two-run single by Yovan Gonzalez that made the score 3-2.

Long Island got a run back in the top of the fifth inning on a solo home run by Cody Puckett (4) for a 4-2 advantage.

Puckett extended the Ducks lead in the top of the seventh inning with an RBI single that made the score 5-2.

The Ducks scored again in the top of the eighth inning on a two-run home run by David Washington (16).

Lorenzo Barcelo (1-0) picked up the win with a scoreless inning pitched. Duane Below (6-4) suffered the loss, allowing five runs on nine hits in 6.1 innings pitched.

The 2018 Somerset Patriots Season presented by Ford will continue at home on Tuesday, August 7th with a 7:05 pm game against the Long Island Ducks at TD Bank Ballpark.
