Ducks Drop Series Finale to Revs

(York, Penn., Aug. 23, 2012) - The Long Island Ducks were defeated by the York Revolution 11-0 on Thursday night in the final game of a four-game series at Sovereign Bank Stadium.

The Revolution struck first on Johan Limonta's two-run single to center in the first off Ducks starter Bubbie Buzachero. Two more runs came across for York on a two-run double to left by Scott Grimes in the second.

Travis Scott's RBI single in the third stretched the lead to five. A four-spot in the seventh and two more in the eighth rounded out the scoring. A pair of two-run homers by Chris Nowak to left highlighted the offense.

Chris Waters (4-5) got the win, tossing seven scoreless innings, allowing five hits and three walks while striking out six. Buzachero (0-1) suffered the loss, surrendering five runs on seven hits in three innings of work.

The Ducks continue their seven-game road trip on Friday night with the opener of a three-game set against the Lancaster Barnstormers. Game time is slated for 7:00 p.m. from Clipper Magazine Stadium. Long Island returns home on Monday, August 27 to open a three-game series against the Camden Riversharks. First pitch is slated for 7:05 p.m., with the Bethpage Ballpark gates opening at 6:05.
