(Camden, N.J., June 17, 2013) - The Long Island Ducks beat the Camden Riversharks 9-2 on Monday night in the opening game of a four-game series at Campbell's Field.

The Ducks unloaded for seven runs in the second inning to open the scoring. Ramon Castro and Rian Kiniry each had RBI singles, Danny Perales hit a three-run home run to right field, and Ben Broussard blasted a two-run homer to right as well.

Delwyn Young put the Riversharks on the board with a groundout in the fourth inning. Salomon Manriquez plated another run for Camden in the seventh inning with a RBI double. Ramon Castro knocked a solo home run in the ninth and Perales added a RBI double to wrap up the scoring.

Starter James Houser (4-0) picked up the win for the Ducks, tossing six innings of one-run baseball, giving up three hits with four strikeouts. Camden starter Brian Bass (2-8) suffered the loss, allowing seven runs on eight hits in seven innings.

Perales led the Ducks with four hits, and Kiniry and Castro each added two. Perales drove in four runs for Long Island, and Castro and Broussard each plated two runs as well.

The Ducks continue their four-game series against the Camden Riversharks at Campbell's Field Tuesday night. First pitch is 7:05. Righthander John Brownell takes the mound for the Ducks while the Camden starter is to be determined. The Ducks return to Bethpage Ballpark on Friday, June 21 to open a three-game weekend set with the Sugar Land Skeeters. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m., with the Bethpage Ballpark gates opening at 6:05. Property of LI Ducks T-Shirts will go out to the first 1,500 fans, courtesy of Petro.
