
Ducks and Barons fit to be tied

CINCINNATI, Ohio - Ben Guite scored a power-play goal late in the second period to lift the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks to a 2-2 tie with the Cleveland Barons Saturday at the Cincinnati Gardens.
Sergei Krivokrasov also scored for the Ducks, who finished the regular-season unbeaten in their last two games (1-0-1-0).
Jessie Fibiger and Miroslav Zalesak scored for the Barons, who play their final game of the season against Rochester Sunday at Gund Arena. Cleveland is one of seven teams which failed to qualify for the Calder Cup playoffs.
Jason Elliott made 35 saves for Cincinnati, including 24 over the final two periods to preserve the tie. Vesa Toskala turned aside 34 of the 36 shots he faced for Cleveland.
The Ducks begin a best-of-three Western Conference qualifying playoff series next week on the road. The opponent and series dates are yet to be determined.
