Greenville Drive News Release

Greenville, SC - The Greenville Drive and Bowling Green Hot Rods battled the first seven innings in a remarkable pitching duel as neither team could muster more than one hit through the first seven innings. However, Greenville was left scoreless by the end of the game as Bowling Green won 4-0.

Starter Yusniel Padron-Artiles kept Bowling Green at bay with no runs and three strikeouts for the first five innings before leaving the mound.

Drive pitchers Michael Gettys and Devon Roedahl both made appearances in the sixth and seventh innings respectively to leave the Hot Rods with no runs. Pitchers for both teams only gave up one hit each for the first seven innings.

Bowling Green finally set things moving at the top of the eighth when Dru Baker hit a double to send two men home. Baker made it home himself after a hit by Alika Williams extending the Hot Rods lead 3-0.

Greenville's offense was kept at arm's length by Bowling Green for the entirety of the ball game. Bowling Green put the nail in the coffin at the top of the ninth where they scored a run thanks to a single by Ronny Simon.

The series with Bowling Green continues tomorrow at Fluor Field with the first pitch at 7:05.
