Grand Rapids Drive News Release
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Grand Rapids Drive, the official NBA G League Affiliate of the Detroit Pistons, announced today that the team has traded Keenan Evans and the player rights to Chris Horton over to Delaware in exchange for the player rights to both Shawn Long and Devondrick Walker.
Long is currently overseas, playing for the New Zealand Breakers of the NBL. After going undrafted in the 2016 NBA Draft, the Louisiana-Lafayette alum and 3X first-team All-Sun Belt player was acquired by the Delaware Blue Coats and ultimately signed a partially guaranteed, multiyear contract with Philadelphia during the 2016-17 season. Long was then traded to Houston and later waived. After a short stint in the Chinese Basketball Association in the fall of 2017, Long was again acquired by the Delaware Blue Coats to finish the 2017-18 G League season.
Walker is also currently overseas, playing for the Pallacanestro Trieste of the Italian LBA. After going undrafted in the 2014 NBA Draft, the Texas A&M-Commerce alum has since played with the Austin Spurs, Westchester Knicks and Delaware Blue Coats and was named Most Improved Player during the 2016-17 season. Walker also played for the Utah Jazz during the 2017 Summer League and the Philadelphia 76ers during the 2018 Summer League.
The Drive return to DeltaPlex Arena Friday, February 1st when the team hosts the Westchester Knicks at 7pm. It's another $2 Friday with $2 beers and $2 hot dogs. Tickets that can be found online at NBAGrandRapids.com or by contacting a ticket rep at 844-GR-DRIVE.
