Northwest Arkansas Naturals News Release

TULSA, Okla. - Left-hander, Dan Tillo, kept-up pitch-for-pitch with the Drillers' starter, Parker Curry. The only difference: Thursday night was Tillo's Double-A debut and he did not look uncomfortable at all. Tillo tossed seven-innings of shutout baseball with five strikeouts and two hits allowed in the Naturals' 1-0 loss at ONEOK Field.

Tillo and Curry both worked into the seventh inning with Curry tossing scoreless eighth frame. Then, the Drillers scored an unearned run in the last of the eighth to break the scoreless tie en route to the final score.

The 23-year old southpaw, Tillo, joined Northwest Arkansas on yesterday's off-day from Wilmington and pitched brilliantly over seven strong frame. After he allowed a two-out single in the first, Tillo kept the Drillers off the bases four consecutive innings.

He ran into trouble in the sixth inning after issuing a pair of walks that ended up at the corners; but he did what he's known for and that's getting ground-balls. Tillo induced a 5-4-3 inning-ending double-play to side-step the threat and keep the game scoreless.

Reliever Franco Terrero (2-5, 6.19 ERA) suffered the losing decision with the unearned tally crossing under his watch.

Northwest Arkansas (44-62/13-25) out-hit the Drillers, 7-4 with Kevin Merrell and Gabriel Cancel each collecting two hits.

The series continues on Friday night with right-hander, Ofreidy Gomez (7-7, 4.09 ERA) taking the ball against right-hander, Markus Solbach (0-0, 0.00 ERA) going for the Drillers.
