Dream Waives Guard Kristin Haynie

Atlanta, April 15, 2009- The Atlanta Dream announced today that the team has waived guard Kristin Haynie.

Haynie, a 5-9 guard, appeared in 33 games for the Dream in 2008, including three starts. The former Michigan State standout averaged 2.8 points, 1.7 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 14.7 minutes per game last season. She recorded her best game of the season against Chicago on July 5, recording a double-double with 11 points and 11 assists.

Haynie was originally selected by the Sacramento Monarchs with the ninth overall pick in the 2005 WNBA Draft. She spent three seasons with the Monarchs before being acquired by the Dream in the 2008 WNBA Expansion Draft. In her four-year WNBA career, Haynie is averaging 3.5 points, 1.7 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game.

The Dream will tip off its second season on Saturday, June 6, 2009 at 7 p.m. against the Indiana Fever.
