
Dream Waives Forward/Center Stacey Lovelace

Atlanta, July 9, 2008-The Atlanta Dream have released six-year veteran Stacey Lovelace. The 6-4 forward/center was signed by the Dream as a free agent on March 27, 2008. Lovelace played in 15 games for the Dream this season, including seven starts. She has been inactive for the past two games.
The Dream was Lovelace's fifth team in seven years in the league. She spent two seasons each with the Seattle Storm and Minnesota Lynx, before being acquired by the Chicago Sky in the 2005 WNBA Expansion Draft. Lovelace spent last season with the Washington Mystics before signing with the Dream this offseason. In 15 games with the Dream, Lovelace averaged 6.1 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.1 steals per game.
The Dream tipped off their inaugural season at Philips Arena with back-to-back sellouts on May 23 and May 25, 2008. The team was officially announced as the 14th team in the WNBA on October 17, 2007. The Dream are members of the WNBA's Eastern conference which also includes the Chicago Sky, Connecticut Sun, Detroit Shock, Indiana Fever, New York Liberty and Washington Mystics.
