ATLANTA, GA - The Atlanta Dream were awarded forward Megan Walker on a waiver claim, the organization announced today.
Walker has averaged 4.0 points, 1.4 rebounds and 0.7 assists per game in two seasons in the WNBA. With the Phoenix Mercury in 2021, she started in seven of 29 regular season games played, averaging 4.5 points and 1.3 rebounds. She appeared in five of the Mercury's postseason games, averaging 1.6 points in their WNBA Finals run.
With CDB Clarinos Tenerife in Spain this past season, Walker averaged 19.6 points, 6.8 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.8 steals per game in Eurocup play, and 13.7 points and 4.3 rebounds per game in LF Endesa matches.
Walker was drafted ninth overall by New York in the 2020 WNBA Draft and saw action in 18 games of her rookie campaign with the Liberty.
The Atlanta Dream will tip off their milestone 15th season in the WNBA in May 2022. The team currently plays home games at the Gateway Center Arena @ College Park and has qualified for the WNBA Playoffs in nine of its first 14 seasons.
