New York Dragons News Release

Dragons standout rookie WR/LB Richmond Flowers III will take part in the AFL on NBC broadcast this Sunday May 9 sitting along side Al Trautwig and Glenn Parker in the NBC studios. Just like QB Aaron Garcia did on April 25, Flowers will talk about the Arena Football League, the Dragons playoff run and some of his prior football experiences during the Wendy's Halftime Report.

Flowers is the son of Richmond Flowers II, an all-American receiver and track star at the University of Tennessee who later played with the Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants. His brother Bill is a receiver at Ole Miss and played with current Number 1 Overall Draft Pick Eli Manning. His grandfather, Richmond Flowers I, was the Attorney General of Alabama in the 1960's and played an instrumental role in the desegregation of the State opposing Gov. Wallace.

Flowers has appeared in seven games this season recording 19 receptions for 323-yards and eight touchdowns. Playing defense for the first time since High School, Flowers has notched an interception return for a touchdown.

NBC Sports' three-game regional coverage of the Arena Football League Sunday at 3 p.m. ET is highlighted by the lead match-up of the Los Angeles Avengers (7-5) facing the Tampa Bay Storm (6-7). Tom Hammond (play-by-play), Pat Haden (analyst) and Lewis Johnson (reporter) will have the call. Also in NBC's other two games, San Jose and New Orleans can both clinch playoff berths with a win. San Jose (10-2) will be at Arizona (8-5) with Eli Gold (play-by-play), Charles Davis (analyst) and Mark Curtis (reporter) while Orlando (6-6) will be at New Orleans (9-3) with Allen Bestwick (play-by-play), Mike Pawlawski (analyst) and Rich Lenz (reporter).
