Dragons on TV Saturday and Sunday on Dayton's CW

DAYTON, OHIO - Dayton Dragons games on Saturday, May 21 and Sunday, May 22 will be televised from Fifth Third Field on Dayton's CW. Saturday's broadcast will begin at 7:00 p.m. while the Sunday telecast will start at 2:00 p.m. The Dragons will host the Bowling Green Hot Rods (Tampa Bay Rays affiliate) both dates.

Dayton's CW is on the air in Dayton on Channel 26, or Channels 13 and 1013 for Time Warner Cable subscribers. Dayton's CW reaches approximately 500,000 households and over 1.2 million potential viewers in a 10-county area.

Sponsors for Dragons television broadcasts include DP&L, Life Connection of Ohio, Water Street District, Voss Auto Network, Courtyard by Marriott Dayton South, Greater Ohio Virtual School, IWorks Laser and Vision Center, Varment Guard, Dayton Sinus Institute, Pizza Hut, In-N-Out Java and SVG Motors.

Dragons Director of Broadcasting Tom Nichols handles the play-by-play for each telecast this season. Grant Griesser, former Assistant Director of Player Development for the Cincinnati Reds, will serve as the color commentator on Saturday. WDTN TV-2 Sports Director Jack Pohl will handle commentator duties on Sunday.

Grant Griesser : Grant brings a broad level of experience to the television booth after serving as a Minor League player, Minor League General Manager, and Major League executive. After starring in baseball, football, and basketball at Oak Hills High School in Cincinnati, he went on to become an All-Mid American Conference catcher at Miami University and played professionally in the Kansas City Royals organization. After earning his master's degree, Grant was hired as the General Manager of the Vero Beach Dodgers in the Florida State League before joining the Reds as Assistant Director of Player Development in 2001, remaining in that role through the 2007 season as he helped develop future Reds players including Joey Votto, Jay Bruce, and Johnny Cueto. Grant was inducted in the Oak Hills High School Athletic Hall-of-Fame in 2010.

Jack Pohl : Jack has served as WDTN-TV Sports Director and Anchor since 2002 and has been with WDTN-TV since August 1995. Jack is a Dayton native who attended Wright State University. He began his broadcasting career at Centerville High School station WCWT. He later moved on to work at various Dayton area radio stations, but is best known for his time as the Z-93 morning show personality with Kim Faris. Jack is proud to have learned the TV business from WDTN's legendary Omar Williams. Jack was honored with the Ohio High School Athletic Association's Sportsmanship and Ethics Integrity Media service award.

Tom Nichols returns for his ninth season with the Dragons and 29th year in Minor League Baseball. He has broadcast over 3,500 minor league games since beginning his career in 1988 and has worked at every level of Minor League Baseball. Nichols has called over 900 consecutive Dragons home and road games and has missed only two broadcasts over the last 26 seasons.

The Dragons 25 telecasts are produced by the organization's in-house 12-person technical crew. They feature six camera angles, replays, and the Dragons award-winning graphics package.
