
Dragons Drop Final Game to Wisconsin, 6-2

The Dayton Dragons (14-16) dropped the series finale to Wisconsin Timber Rattlers (14-13) Sunday afternoon 6-2 as the Rattlers outscored the Dragons 6-0 over the final seven innings in front of 8,676 at Fifth Third Field Sunday afternoon.
Dayton jumped ahead early 1-0 as leadoff hitter Domonique Lewis singled to lead off the bottom of the first inning, stole second and reached third on a throwing error from first baseman Jon Nelson. Kevin Howard hit a sacrifice fly to knock in Lewis with the first run of the game.
The Dragons again put a single run on the board in the bottom of the second with back-to-back singles to start off the inning coming from Mark Schramek and Junior Ruiz. Miguel Perez chased home Schramek with a single and Dayton held the 2-0 advantage.
Timber Rattler starting pitcher Bobby Livingston (W, 3-1) would not allow another Dragon to score, as he would settle down the final five innings he pitched. Livingston went 7.0 innings allowing 7 hits 2 runs walking a batter and striking out 2.Juan Frias (L, 2-2) was tagged with the mound loss going 4.0 innings allowing 4 runs on 7 hits striking out 1 and walking a batter.
Wisconsin plated two runs in the third inning and fifth inning and would lead 4-2 after five innings of play. Matt Hagen and Dustin Delucchi both doubled and would score to tie the game at 2-2 and took the lead for good with the two runs in the fifth. Rene Rivera singled followed by a Hagen single a walk to Delucchi loaded the bases and a single from DH Chris Phillips would make the score 4-2 Wisconsin.
Wisconsin tacked on insurance runs in the sixth and seventh innings to close out the score at 6-2. The "T-Rats" scored the fifth run of the game on a solo homerun off of the bat of T.J. Bohn, and finished the scoring with Delucchi picking up a single moving to second on a sacrifice bunt and scoring on a RBI single from Corey Harrington,
The Dragons leave town for an eight game road trip starting Monday in Cedar Rapids. 1410 ESPN Radio WING AM will carry the game live with the pregame show beginning at 7:00 pm. RHP Josh Thigpen will get the start for the Dragons while Cedar Rapids has not announced who will get the start.
