"Downtown Fan Fest" To Kick Off Festivities

APPLEBEE'S PARK (Lexington, KY.) - The Lexington Legends have a full day of activities planned for Opening Day, Thursday, April 5. Opening Day will include "Downtown Fan Fest" and a "Party On The Plaza" leading up to the first pitch of the 2007 season.

"We strive every year to make Opening Day better and better, and we feel that some of our improvements will make this year the best opening day that we've had," Legends General Manager Kevin Kulp said.

Opening Day will kick off with the "Downtown Fan Fest" to be held from 11:30-1:00 at Cheapside Park. Hot Dogs and Pepsi will be available for only $1.00. There will also be live music and select members of the Legends team will be on hand to sign autographs.

The fun shifts to Applebee's Park for the "Party On The Plaza." Easy Money will be on hand to entertain some the early arrivers beginning at 4:30 pm. The gates at Applebee's Park will open at 5:30 pm.

Rally will be entertaining during the game at Applebee's Park with an ADI Fireworks display after the game. It's also Thirsty Thursday's at the Orchard with $1 beers and Pepsi.

The Legends will also be executing a promotion called "Nine Innings of Fun". Each inning, a contestant will have the chance to win $10,000 if certain things happen during the game. LM Communications and Cumulus Radio will be selecting some contestants prior to opening day. The Legends will also have entry forms at a registration booth on Opening Day.

The Legends will open the 2007 season at Applebee's Park on Thursday, April 5, against the Delmarva Shorebirds. Season tickets and mini-plan packages are still available. Call the box office for information at 859-422-RUNS (7867).
