Dow Event Center to Host First Spirit Pre Season Match Up

The Saginaw Spirit will open the first of two home and home sets to wrap up their 2014-15 OHL exhibition schedule with a visit by the Plymouth Whalers to the Dow Event Center on Friday, September 5th at 7:11 pm. The same two teams will skate in Plymouth on Saturday, September 6th at 7:05 pm. Saginaw is looking for its first win of the preseason after a 3-2 shootout loss in Sarnia against the Sting this past Monday. The Spirit should ice a full line up tonight before OHL players begin reporting to NHL camps in the coming days. Spirit players in line to move on to pro camps include Jimmy Lodge (Winnipeg), Nick Moutrey (Columbus) Dylan Sadowy (San Jose), and Blake Clarke (Detroit), with Moutrey and Clarke both participating in the upcoming Traverse City tournament hosted by the Detroit Red Wings.

The Spirit will wrap up their preseason schedule with a home and home set with the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds beginning on Friday, September 12th at 7:11 at the Dow Event Center, and concluding a night later at the Essar Center in Sault Ste. Marie.

The Spirit will celebrate home opening week with a pair of games at the Dow Event Center. On Wednesday, September 24th at 7:11 pm. Saginaw will host the Connor McDavid and the Erie Otters in a rematch of last year's first round playoff match up. The Sarnia Sting will provide the opposition on Saturday, September 27th at 7:11 pm to round out the first week of OHL action.
