AMARILLO, TX - The Amarillo Dillas extended their winning streak to a season high seven games and swept the Laredo Broncos in the process, winning both games of a doubleheader 7-6 and 5-4 on Saturday night at the Amarillo National Bank Dilla Villa in front of 3,387 fans.

Dillas reliever Albert Ayala (1-0) got the win in game one with a perfect eighth inning of work while Robbie Wooley (4-2) got the win in game two, also pitching a scoreless eighth inning.

In game one, Amarillo started the scoring in the first as Stantrel Smith led off with a triple and scored on a Carlos Figueroa single. Following a Terrance McClain single and a Trent Lockwood walk, new Dilla infielder Angel Reyes drew a walk to score Figueroa for a 2-0 lead. The Broncos responded with a run in the second inning as Luany Sanchez scored on an error, and a third inning Juan Senreiso RBI single tied the game 2-2.

The Dillas retook the lead in the third with an Anthony Bennett RBI single. Amarillo extended that lead with a two run RBI single by McClain for a 5-2 lead. The Broncos responded with four runs in the fifth, two on a homerun by Argelis Nunez for a 6-5 Laredo lead. Amarillo tied the game in the fifth as Reyes singled, went to third on an error and scored on a Justin Wenger sacrifice fly for a 6-6 tie game.

After neither team was able to score in the sixth or seventh, extra innings were required to complete game one. Smith led off the eighth with a single, stole second, went to third on an error and scored on a Trent Lockwood RBI single for a 7-6 walkoff win in game one.

In game two, Laredo got off to the quick lead in the first as Nunez hit an RBI single. Luis Ugueto extended the lead in the second with a bases loaded three-RBI double for a 4-0 Broncos lead.

Amarillo came back in the fourth as McClain walked, Reyes singled, Eric Brown doubled to score McClain, while Brian Bueno singled to score both Reyes and Brown. After a fielder's choice put Willie James at second, Smith singled to tie the game at 4-4.

After seven innings, the game remained tied. In the eighth, with two outs and the bases loaded, Andrew Wong took a walk to bring home the winning run for a 5-4

With the win, the Dillas improve to 34-27, while the Broncos fall to 21-41. Sunday, Amarillo will travel to San Angelo to play the first-place Colts opening game of a four-game series at 7:05pm. Game time is tentative and is subject to blackout.
