Wednesday - Regency Furniture Stadium - 6:05 p.m. CT

LAST TIME OUT: Last night's game between the Skeeters and the Blue Crabs was called due to inclement weather. Being that the game didn't make it through the 5th inning, it wasn't counted as official. The two teams will make up last night's game with a double-header consisting of two seven-inning games beginning at 6:05 p.m. CT

GAME 2: RHP Jon Velasquez (2-0, 7.46 ERA) will go up against LHP Scott Snodgress (1-5, 7.14 ERA) in Game 2.

PENNANT RACE: Sugar Land made up some ground with York's loss to Long Island Tuesday night. The club has 6 games remaining in the first half of the season and currently sit 2.5 games behind York for 1st place in the Freedom Division.

ALL-TIME AGAINST SOUTHERN MARYLAND: The Skeeters are 41-46 in the all-time series against the Blue Crabs (22-24 at Constellation Field, 19-22 at Regency Furniture Stadium).

AGAINST SOUTHERN MARYLAND IN 2016: The Skeeters are 3-4 against the Blue Crabs so far this season (2-4 at Constellation Field, 1-0 at Regency Furniture Stadium).

DOUBLE-HEADERS: The Skeeters fared well in their most recent double header, which was held on Saturday, June 25 against the Somerset Patriots. The Skeeters won Game 1, 4-3 on the shoulders of Jake Hale who pitched a complete game, giving up only two runs on eight hits over seven innings of work. The Skeeters came out on top in Game 2 with a walk-off single from Josh Prince in extra innings.

THE UNOFFICIAL OUTING: Sugar Land was leading 2-0 in the top of the 5th thanks to Delwyn Young's two-run blast in the 1st inning. RHP Brett Marshall showed promise with four shutout innings in his 2016 Skeeters debut.

PITCHING STAFF: Despite the Skeeters combined 4.18 ERA in the month of June, over the last 10 G the Skeeters pitching staff has combined for a 3.15 ERA. Complete Stat Line: (6-4, 3.15 ERA), 94.0 IP, 93 H, 33 ER, 62 K, 35 BB.

HAGUE STREAKING: Ricky Hague is batting .348 (13-49), HR, 4 RBI over his last 10 G and is currently on a 7 G hitting-streak batting .384 (10-36).

JOSH PRINCE continued his hot stretch after going 1-3, RBI Monday night against the Blue Crabs. Prince is batting .379 (11-29), HR, 4 RBI since coming off the DL. Prince is also on a 5 G hitting streak batting .444 (8-18).

BEAMER BOUNCE BACK: Beamer Weems hit .153 in the month of May and is hitting .173 overall in the month of June, but over the last 10 G, Weems is batting .285 (10-35), RBI over his last 10 G.

TEXAS CONNECTS: The Skeeters have six players on the roster who hail from the great state of Texas including Jeremy Barfield (Born in Houston, TX, attended local San Jacinto College), Roy Merritt (Born in Houston, TX, attended Nimitz HS in Irving, TX), Ricky Hague (Born in Houston, TX, attended Rice University), Beamer Weems (Attended Baylor University), Patrick Palmeiro (Born in Colleyville, TX, attended Colleyville Heritage High School), Aaron Thompson (Attended Second Baptist HS, Houston, TX), and Ben Guez (Attended Lamar HS, Houston, TX)

TAKING IT TO THE NEXT LEVEL: The Skeeters currently have eight players on the 2016 roster with Major League experience, which includes: Sean Gallagher (CHC, OAK, SD, PIT) Andy Laroche (LAD, PIT, OAK, TOR), Chris Rearick (SD), Robbie Weinhardt (DET), Delwyn Young (PIT, LAD), and Josh Prince (Milwaukee) and Aaron Thompson (MIN) and Ryan Mattheus (LAA, WAS, CIN).
