Dorow, Procyshen Homer in Riders 2-1 Win

FRISCO, Texas - The Frisco RoughRiders hit two homers in a 2-1 win over the Amarillo Sod Poodles from Riders Field on Thursday evening.

In the first inning, Ryan Dorow put the Riders (17-9) on the board with a solo home run to left field. It was his third homer of the year.

Jordan Procyshen then increased the lead to 2-0 with a solo blast himself into the Lazy River in right.

In the seventh, the Sod Poodles (11-16) plated a run on an RBI single from Jarett Rindfleisch, making it 2-1, but the Riders held on for the win behind Scotty Engler's six-out save, his second of the season.

In his start, Sal Mendez (3-0) earned the win with five shutout innings, allowing just three hits while striking out five. Riders starters over this series have now allowed just one run over 17 innings.

Tommy Henry (0-2) took the loss in the start for Amarillo.

The Riders continue their six-game series against the Sod Poodles with a 7:05 p.m. first pitch on Friday, June 4th. RHP Hans Crouse (0-0, 1.50) makes his first home start for Frisco against RHP Ryan Weiss (1-1, 3.28).
