
D'Orio Named Sea Dogs MVP

SAINT JOHN - Goaltender Alex D'Orio has been named the most valuable player for the Saint John Sea Dogs during the 2017-18 season.
The 18-year-old from Sherbrooke, Quebec, was presented with the Bell Aliant Most Valuable Player Award at the Sea Dogs' annual awards banquet, held this evening at the Delta Brunswick.
D'Orio also took home the Alpine Three Stars Award.
Ostap Safin and Bailey Webster snared two awards each.
Safin was named the Grant Thornton Rookie of the Year and took home the Pepsi Top Scorer Award.
Webster, the Sea Dogs' captain, won the Scotiabank Community Service Award and the Irving Oil Team Player Award.
Radim Salda was recognized with the Sun Life Global Investments Top Defenceman Award while Matt Green was named the Saint John Airport Academic Player of the Year.
Cedric Pare won the Tim Hortons Most Improved Player Award. Cole Reginato earned the Children's Wish Foundation Fans Choice Award.
