Dorados Unveil 2008 Schedule; Rattlers Tryout This Saturday

Hidalgo, Texas --- The Rio Grande Valley Dorados of arenafootball2 (af2) today unveiled the team's 2008 schedule. This season marks the fifth in a row that the team has provided in-your-face football action at Dodge Arena.
The Dorados, who finished 15-1 in 2007 and won the Southwest Division title, open up the 2008 campaign on the road with games at Texas (Houston area), Corpus Christi and Austin. The club finally kicks off at home on Saturday, April 26, vs. the Bossier-Shreveport Battle Wings. All games at Dodge Arena are scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
The Southwest Division rivals will look to re-kindle last season's grudge. The teams split the regular season series in games which produced plenty of trash talk both on and off the field. Bossier nipped the Dorados for their only regular season loss and also edged Rio in the National Conference Playoffs.
Rio Grande Valley will play nine of its 16 games against Southwest Division clubs (Austin - 2, Bossier-Shreveport - 3, Corpus Christi - 3, Texas -2). The remainder of the slate consists of games against National Conference foes Lubbock (2), Tulsa (2), Oklahoma City (1), Amarillo (1) and Central Valley (1).

AFL RATTLERS TRYOUT CAMP THIS SATURDAY IN SAN ANTONIO
Former Dorados Head Coach Kevin Guy, now the Head Coach of AFL Arizona, and his staff with the will be on the field this Saturday in San Antonio evaluating all potential new Rattlers. The team will be working out all positions except for kickers. The event, which any player can attend, will take place on Saturday, January 19th, 2008, at Alamo Stadium in San Antonio, Texas.
Registration will begin at 12pm that day, with the workout lasting until about 5 p.m. Participants will pay a registration fee of $80 (cash only) on the day of the workout to attend. However, players can pre-register at a discounted rate of $60 (payable by credit card) by calling 956-843-5658 up to the day before the workout.
In the event of rain, the tryout will proceed as scheduled.
The entire tryout will take place on field turf at Alamo Stadium. Not to be confused with the Alamo Dome, Alamo Stadium is located at 760 Stadium Drive; San Antonio, Texas 78216. The 23,000 seat facility was built in 1940 and has a rich football tradition. The San Antonio Gunslingers of the USFL made their home there in 1984-85, and the stadium has also hosted the Alamo Bowl.
