Dorados place McAlpine on injured reserve

HIDALGO, TEXAS --- The Rio Grande Valley Dorados of arenafootball2 (af2) today placed veteran WR/LB Travis McAlpine on the injured reserve list.

McAlpine suffered an injury in RGV's 83-56 loss at Stockton on May 16. McAlpine led the team with four interceptions, was fourth in tackles (24.5) and also had a pair of receiving TDs.

The Dorados also made three other transactions. OL/DL Reggie Hargrove was placed on the team suspended list while OL/DL Diego Saenz was activated from the team suspended list. FB/LB Cory Anderson was activated from the refused to report list, while OL/DL Zarah Yisrael was officially assigned by the af2 league office.

Saenz is a Mission native who played in three games with RGV in the 2004 season. Anderson enjoyed a four-year career at the University of Tennessee from 2003-06, appearing in 43 games for the Volunteers. Yisrael was the first player selected overall in the All-American Football League (AAFL) draft in 2008.

The Dorados (5-2) return to action this Friday on the road at Bossier-Shreveport (3-4). Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.

All Dorados games are broadcast live on Real Country 102.1 FM. Games are also available online, free of charge, via Nifty-af2TV.

RGV returns home on Saturday, June 20, vs. Bossier-Shreveport at 7:35 p.m.
