Rio Grande Valley Dorados News Release
Hidalgo, Texas --- The Rio Grande Valley Dorados of arenafootball2 (af2) today announced that DL Quinton Staton has signed with the Orlando Predators of the Arena Football League.
Staton, who will turn 24 on November 15, led af2 with 18.5 sacks last season. The 6-foot-2, 260-pound Chattanooga, Tenn., native was second in the league with 22.5 tackles for loss and finished tied for third on the Dorados with 44.5 tackles.
After a 15-1 season in 2007 that saw the team win the Southwest Division title and a earn trip to the second round of the playoffs, Staton is the first Dorados player to sign with an AFL team this offseason.
"I'm excited for Quinton and excited for our organization," said Dorados Head Coach Marty Hammond. "We hate to lose a guy with his talent, but a big part of what we do is developing talent for the next level."
The Dorados will kick off their fifth season in arenafootball2 at Dodge Arena in April of 2008.
