August 22, 2007 - Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA)
New York Liberty News Release
On Friday evening, the WNBA Playoffs will make a triumphant return to Madison Square Garden, as the New York Liberty host the defending WNBA Champion Detroit Shock at 7:30PM.
New York is one of only two teams to hand Detroit two losses this summer. Each match-up in the season series was never without excitement. Two of the games went into overtime, and Erin Thorn's buzzer beater with 3.3 seconds remaining on August 12th will go down as one of the most memorable moments this season!
The first 5,000 fans at Friday's game will receive a team photo placard, courtesy of Jana Water - plus the first 7,500 will be handed Liberty Cheer Stix upon entering. The Liberty will also be offering a Playoff edition of in-arena food specials.
