Albany-Colonie Diamond Dogs News Release

Colonie, New York- Albany-Colonie starting pitcher Eric Estes pitched a complete game five-hitter as the Diamond Dogs took the first game of a three-game series against Berkshire, 2-1, at Heritage Park tonight. Estes pitched his third complete game of the year and improved his record with the Dogs to 6-1. Eric had his usual outstanding control as he struck out seven and did not walk a batter.

Offensively, the Diamond Dogs were limited to just six hits, but thanks to Estes's effort, it would be enough. Carlos Sepulveda's two-run double in the bottom of the fourth would give the Diamond Dogs their only two runs of the game. For Berkshire, they would get their run on a solo home run by Josh Perich, his first of the year.

With the win, the Diamond Dogs maintain their lead in the Northern League East North Division. The Dogs will play the second game of the series tomorrow night at 7:05 p.m. at Heritage Park.
