Albany-Colonie Diamond Dogs News Release

Colonie, New York- After falling behind 4-0 after an inning-and-a-half, the Diamond Dogs rallied to score 11 of the game's final 12 runs for the 11-5 win over the Allentown Ambassadors tonight at Heritage Park. Allentown jumped out to an early lead, courtesy of Ryan Bordenick who knocked in three runs in his first two at-bats. The Diamond Dogs, however, responded with four runs in the 2nd to tie the game at 4 apiece.

Allentown would reclaim the lead 5-4 after they got a run in the top of the third, but that would be their last run of the game. The Dogs exploded for five runs in the last of the 7th to pull away for the win.

Offensively, the Diamond Dogs had six players drive in at least one run, and Ryan Smith led the attack going 3-4 with an RBI and a run scored. Vic Davila and Dan Singletary each had two hits on the evening. Davila's second hit of the game gave him 100 on the season.

The Diamond Dogs play game two of the three-game series tomorrow night at Heritage Park. Game time is 7:05 p.m.
