Albany-Colonie Diamond Dogs News Release
Colonie, New York- Dan Singletary's RBI single in the bottom of the 10th gave the Diamond Dogs a come-from-behind 7-6 victory over the Berkshire Black bears tonight at Heritage Park. The Dogs fell behind 5-2 early, but came away with a victory after Julio Zorrilla scored the game-winning run.
Offensively, Zorrilla went 4-6 with two runs scored, including the game winner. The Dogs also stole 10 bases in the game, which is a new team record. Vic Davila and Malvin Matos chipped in with two hits apiece. The Black bears did not help their cause as they committed four errors in the loss, which now makes them 8-25 in the second half, worst in the league.
With the win, the Diamond Dogs improve to 22-13 in the second half, and maintain their lead in the Northern League East North Division. Albany-Colonie has owned Berkshire winning 11 of the 13 meetings this season. The Dogs go for the series sweep tomorrow night at 7:05 p.m. at Heritage Park.
