August 20, 2002 - Northern League (NL)
Albany-Colonie Diamond Dogs News Release

Colonie, New York- The got milk? Milk Mustache nation-wide tour is coming to the capital district as it stops at Heritage Park this coming Sunday, August 25th. Along with the Albany-Colonie Diamond Dogs, the got milk? campaign is helping to spread the word that kids of all ages should put down their nutrient-void soda, and drink more nutrient-rich milk. The campaign will feature activities of all sorts, and fans could be chosen as the winner of different got milk? promotional prizes. The event will help promote the benefits of drinking milk and will appearing at the ballpark between 12:30-3:00 p.m. this Sunday.

Fans at the ballpark will have the opportunity to have their picture taken while wearing the infamous milk mustache. All people who have their picture taken will receive a mock backstage pass to hold their milk mustache photo. Fans will also be able to step up to a microphone and introduce a real music video, as if he or she were Carson Daly of MTV's Total Request Live.

Also that afternoon, children at Heritage Park will be able to participate in "The Great Soda Swap," in which fans can trade in a can or bottle of soda in exchange for a single-serve bottle of flavored (cotton candy, cappucino, etc.) milk. Each time a swap is made, a scrolling ticker will display how much calcium has been added to address the nation's teen calcium deficit.

At the tour's end, one grand-prize winner will be selected for a trip to new York City for an exclusive, behind-the-scenes trip to the studio of "TRL" for a day of backstage excitement. Other prizes include a chance to appear in their very own Milk Mustache ad to run in a future issue of Rolling Stone magazine. One local winner from Albany will have their Milk Mustache photo posted on the official Milk Web site whymilk.com.

The Diamond Dogs are proud to announce their support for the got milk? campaign and are excited to have it appearing at Heritage Park before the team's final regular season home game this Sunday, August 25th.
