Las Vegas Desert Dogs News Release
LAS VEGAS, Nev. - The Vancouver Warriors used a six-goal run in the second quarter to take command and ultimately oust the Las Vegas Desert Dogs 14-5 on Saturday night.
In front of a record crowd of 7,914, the Desert Dogs couldn't find their rhythm at Michelob ULTRA Arena managing just five goals on the night. In a game plagued with penalty minutes and reviews, Vancouver capitalized on power player opportunities to create separation from the hosts throughout the game.
Rob Hellyer led the Dogs with three goals. John Wagner turned in a standout defensive performance, causing a game-high five caused turnovers while collecting 14 loose balls. Landon Kells made 43 saves in the cage.
The Desert Dogs will return to action next weekend in Fort Worth, Texas to face Panther City Lacrosse Club. Faceoff at Dickies Arena is slated for 5:00 pm PT.
