Bridgewater, New Jersey - The Lancaster Barnstormers (13-19, 37-65) downed the Somerset Patriots (12-21, 54-49) 7-1 on Thursday night at TD Bank Ballpark.

Lancaster posted a run in the third after a scoreless first two frames. Caleb Gindl began the inning with an infield single and three batters later Destin Hood drove him in with an RBI single.

The 'Stormers' bats were at it again in the sixth inning. Andrew Aplin began the inning with a walk, then advanced to second on a wild pitch. Hood then singled and K.C. Hobson later drew a walk to load the bases. Michael Martinez drove in Aplin on an RBI single and later came around to score on a Parker Morin fielder's choice to extend the lead 3-0.

Somerset tallied it's lone run in the eighth when Mike Crouse scored on a wild pitch, but Lancaster piled it on in the top of the ninth. Joey Terdoslavich drove in Gindl on a two-out RBI single before Hood (7) broke things open with a three-run home run to push the 'Stormers ahead 7-1.

Connor Overton (1-0) earned his first victory of the season in just his second start with the 'Stormers. Overton spun seven shutout innings allowing just four hits. Zack Dodson (0-1) takes the loss in his Patriots debut going six innings and allowing three runs.
