Lake Country DockHounds News Release
GARY, IND. - The Lake Country took the final game of the series against the Gary SouthShore RailCats by a 5-2 score Wednesday evening.
It was a duel between two all-star pitchers to begin the game as Alex McRae and Jack Eisenbarger took the hill.
While Eisenbarger only pitched three innings, he struck out six and allowed one hit. McRae on the other hand went seven innings and struck out eight RailCats.
The scoring would begin in the first when the RailCats took a 1-0 lead. Nate Scantlin led off with a single and was brought in by Daniel Lingua's RBI single. Gary SouthShore would also score one in the third.
Lake Country would get things going in the fourth with Gabriel Noriega when he reached on a single. Brusa drew a walk, and Jake Snider notched a single. In his first AAPB appearance, Gary SouthShore pitcher August Voight sailed a wild pitch and balked to drive in the first two runs for the DockHounds. Tristen Carranza plated the third run of the inning with a single.
Wilfredo Gimenez towered his second home run of the series over the left-field wall, in the same spot he homered in game one. The score was then 4-1 DockHounds, after six innings.
Carranza dropped down a sacrifice hit to score the speedy Snider in the eighth. In the next half inning, Lake Country converted a triple play! You can watch the clip on our Twitter @dockhounds. The final score would be 5-2, DockHounds.
