
DL Jeramie Richardson Named Second Team All-IFL

MIDLAND, TX. : The West Texas Roughnecks are pleased to announce on Friday, June 24 that defensive linemen Jeramie Richardson has been named to the 2011 All-IFL Second Team after finishing second on the team with 10.5 sacks. Richardson also finished eighth on the team with 36.0 total tackles with two forced fumbles and two defensive touchdowns recorded in 13 games played during the 2011 regular season.
Richardson (6'1", 267 lbs.) played a key role on a Roughnecks defensive unit that led the Indoor Football League in points allowed per game (27.9) and total yards allowed per game (123.0). The Roughnecks defense also finished fourth in the IFL with 33.5 total sacks, and finished first in total points allowed with 391.
In nine of the Roughnecks 14 games during the regular season, Richardson recorded at least a half sack including 5.5 sacks in his last six games played during the 2011 regular season. Prior to his first season with the Roughnecks, Richardson (Angelo State) spent the 2010 season with the San Angelo Stampede Express where he finished fourth on the team with 44.0 total tackles including 3.0 sacks, four forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.
