Wachusett Dirt Dawgs News Release
LEOMINSTER, Mass (June 11, 2014). The Nashua Silver Knights dominated the game winning 11-0 over the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs. The Dirt Dawgs struggled the entire game waiting until the 8th inning to pick up their first hit. They would finish the game with that one sole hit from Kyle Brigham (Daniel Webster).
For the Silver Knights, Mike Geannelis (UMass) went 7 innings holding the Dirt Dawgs hitless. He also had eight strikeouts. The Silver Knights also had four home runs including a grand slam by Jimmy Ricoy (UMass Lowell).
For the Dirt Dawgs, Kevin O'Connor (Assumption College) went 1 2/3 innings allowed nine runs but only one earned run. Matt Russell (UMass Dartmouth) pitched 3 1/3 innings only allowing one earned run.
The Dirt Dawgs will face the Old Orchard Beach Raging Tide on June 12th at Doyle Field in Leominster, Massachusetts. Ben White (Holy Cross) is expected to start for the Dirt Dawgs.
