Saginaw Spirit News Release

Saginaw, Mich. - Spirit defenseman Rodwin Dionicio will join the Swiss National Junior Team for their selection camp ahead of the 2024 World Junior Championship.

The 19-year-old blueliner will make his third appearance at the World Juniors, having played in both 2023 and 2022. Dionicio notched a goal at last year's tournament, and has ten games of World Junior experience headed into this year's.

A 5th round pick of the Anaheim Ducks in 2023, Dionicio has cemented himself as a premier blueliner in the OHL. In 24 games this season, his 28 points (10G, 18A) land him 6th among the league's defensemen. He arrived in Saginaw via trade with the Windsor Spitfires on November 16th. In his eight games wearing a Spirit jersey, Dionicio has registered five goals and three assists for eight points.

The 48th World Junior Championship will be held in Gothenburg, Sweden from December 26th, 2023 to January 5th 2024.

The Saginaw Spirit will head out on the road for a pair of games this weekend, making stops in London on Friday, December 8th and Flint on Saturday, December 9th.
