Amarillo Dillas News Release

July 1, 2008 - The Dillas and Aces will play a make-up game on July 2 to finish off the first-half for both teams, and determine the final first half playoff spot. If the Dillas win, San Angelo will join the Dillas in the playoffs; however, if the Dillas lose, the Aces would then join the Dillas in the playoffs as the second seed.

The game is the make-up game from June 4, after a power outage occurred to the Amarillo National Bank Dilla Villa. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 pm.

Season ticket holders expecting to attend the July 2 game must go to the Dillas office on the corner of 8th and Polk to receive their seats to the game, because the game is not a regularly scheduled game. If season ticket holders don't go to the office before the game, they can pick their tickets up in will call at the ballpark. There will no charge to season ticket holders.

"The game means more to the Aces and Colts than to us, but we do expect a big crowd to come out a support the first half champions anyway," said General Manager Mark Lee. "In this game, we will show why Amarillo doesn't only have the best team in the league, but the best fans."

The United League announced, before the season, they have expanded their 2008 post-season format to two rounds with four teams competing for the chance to be crowned champions. At the end of the first half of the season, the top two teams will earn the right to host a first round best-of-three series at their home stadium starting on Monday, August 18th and concluding on August 19th. The final two post-season participants will be chosen by the best overall winning percentages during the entire season.

The winners of the first two series will then meet for the championship in another best of three series. The Championship Series will be played at both parks with the lower seed drawing game one on Thursday, August 21st and the higher seed hosting games 2 & 3 on Friday and Saturday, August 22nd and 23rd.
