Tri-City Diesel News Release

Kearney, Nebraska-The Tri-City Diesel Football Team only has a couple more days of preparation until they play their first game. The Diesel travel to Enid, OK on March, 20th to take on the Crude at 7:30 pm.

In his first year with the Tri-City Diesel, Coach Fuller is thankful and excited about his opportunity to be the head coach. With the first game just around the corner, Coach Fuller has been too busy to be nervous about coaching his first game with the Diesel. "I feel no pressure, I have nothing to lose, and I'm just taking each game one game at a time", stated Coach Fuller.

The Diesel start their season off against an opponent who already has a game under their belt and who scored 52 points in their first contest. This will be the first home game for the Crude, which makes things even tougher for the Diesel. With only two players off last years Diesel roster, the Diesel is going to face a lot of adversity. Although there are a lot of new faces, Head Coach Robert Fuller says he feels that this group has become a tight knit team of young men who are going to play well together as a family.

The defensive unit is going to be the strong point for the Diesel coming into their first game. Defensive coordinator, Mike Brown states, "We have a front line that is pretty close to un-blockable and will cause a lot of problems for the Oklahoma offense. With one of the best units he has ever coached, Brown is very confident with his group of guys.

Coach Fuller is very happy with his coaching staff. With Fuller acting as the Offensive Coordinator and Brown calling the defense, assistant coaches Mark Hudson (offensive line), Dave Stricklin, (defensive line) have been hard at work preparing the players for their first game. Fuller feels that his young team has done a miraculous job in learning the system and seeing what the team is trying to accomplish. Coach Fuller gave praise to his team by stating, "I have never encountered a team with such a great work ethic, they clock-in, work hard and get after it."
