Diesel Take on Capitols in Regular Season Finale

June 16, 2004 - National Indoor Football League (NIFL) - Tri-City Diesel News Release

Kearney—The Tri-City Diesel will finish out their regular season against the Lincoln Capitols this Saturday, June 19th at 7:35pm. This match-up will be the second meeting between the two teams in as many weeks. “Normally playing a team back to back is a negative, but we are really looking forward to playing Lincoln again because we didn’t play our best football against them and we want another shot at them,” said Diesel Head Coach, Robert Fuller. In the previous game in Lincoln, the Diesel came away with a 55-34 win over the Capitols to boost their winning streak to five games.

The Diesel hope to complete the regular season sweep and turn their attention towards the playoffs. Playoff tickets for the Tri-City Diesel's first-ever home playoff game are on sale. The Diesel are making the franchise's first National Indoor Football League playoff appearance and will host a yet to be determined opponent either July 9 or July 16 at the Tri-City Arena. Currently the No. 3 seed in the Pacific Conference, the Diesel still have a possibility of earning a first-round bye by finishing as one of the top two teams in the conference. If Tri-City does earn the bye, the game will be played July 16 at 7:35pm otherwise; it is scheduled for 7:35pm on July 9. Even though the exact date hasn't been set, tickets can be purchased for $13 by mailing in the order form or by calling the Tri-City Diesel Office 308-338-8180. Tickets will be held at the Tri-City Arena Box Office. Also, front row tickets, which are usually $18.50, will be sold for $13 on a first come, first serve basis.
