IDAHO FALLS, ID - Jack Dicenso (W, 2-2) dazzled on the mound with 10 strikeouts over seven innings and a third, helping the Idaho Falls Chukars (17-10) defeat the Glacier Range Riders (11-16) by a 6-3 score on Friday night at Melaleuca Field. The Chukars ended a five-game losing skid with the win.

Dicenso retired the first two batters in the first, recording his first strikeout against Sam Linscott. He worked around a fielding error from Dusty Stroup and a Brandon Trammell single to strike out Vinny Bologna to end the inning.

Glacier opened up the scoring against Dicenso in the second on a Ryan Cash RBI double with one out to lead 1-0. Dicenso retired the next two batters, notching his third K in the process to keep the score as is.

With one out in the home half, Sam Troyer connected for a single against Logan VanWey (L, 2-1). Jose Reyes put the Chukars on the board with a two-run homer, his first as a Chukar to give the Chukars the lead 2-1. Steve Barmakian and Matt Feinstein drew consecutive walks to bring Hunter Hisky to the plate. Hisky singled to score Barmakian and Feinstein to spot Dicenso a 4-1 lead.

Dicenso continued to impress on the mound, retiring the Range Riders 1-2-3 in the third. He struck out Bologna to begin the fourth, before allowing a single from Justin Mazzone. Dicenso worked around the single to strike out Austin McNicolas and Cash, striking out the Range Riders side.

After the single from Cash, Dicenso retired 11-straight Range Riders hitters, beginning with the two K's to end the fourth inning. He sat down the Range Riders side in order in the fifth, recording his eighth strikeout in the process, surpassing his previous season high from the June 12th game against the Rocky Mountain Vibes.

The Chukars continued to provide Dicenso with runs support, as Brady West drove in Hisky on a sac fly to make it a 5-1 game.

After managing two groundouts in the sixth, Dicenso blew away Bologna on an inside fastball for his ninth strikeout, retiring the side in order for the second consecutive inning. In the seventh, Dicenso induced a flyout and a groundout before retiring Cash on strikes for his 10th strikeout.

Dicenso returned to the mound for the eighth, the longest outing of any Chukars starter. However the Range Riders ended the streak of 11 retired as two errors were committed by Stroup and first baseman Andrew Don that loaded up the bases with one out. Trammell singled to bring in a run and make it 5-2, the run coming unearned. Nate Jenkins (SV, 1) took to the mound and struck out pinch hitter Livingston Morris for the second out of the inning. However, another unearned run came to score on a fielding error by Reyes, who was unable to field a Mazzone ground ball cleanly. With the score 5-3, Jenkins struck out McNicolas to get the Chukars out of the jam still with the lead.

The Chukars scored an important insurance run in the bottom of the eighth, with two outs. West drew a walk to bring Stroup to the plate. With Rick Phillips pinch running, Stroup belted a double to send Phillips racing home to make it 6-3.

Jenkins returned for the ninth, managing a lineout and groundout to bring the Range Riders down to their final out. McConnell kept Glacier alive with a single, but Jenkins managed a Linscott groundout to Don at first to end the game and secure his first save of the season.

No walks were issued by Dicenso and Jenkins, who combined to strikeout 12 Glacier batters. Only one earned run was allowed by Dicenso, who's ERA is now 2nd in the Pioneer League at 4.61.

The series continues today with first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m. The game can be viewed on the Idaho Falls Chukars YouTube channel, and heard on KSPZ The Sports Zone. Idaho Falls wll start RHP Ramsey Romano (2-0, 5.55 ERA) and the Range Riders starter is TBD.
