Manchester, NH - The New Hampshire Fisher Cats (Blue Jays Double-A affiliate) and Reading Fightin Phils (Philadelphia Phillies) split a doubleheader on Tuesday night at Delta Dental Stadium. The Fisher Cats took Game 1, 4-0, and dropped Game 2, 8-0.

Yennsy Diaz (W, 3-3) was dominant in the opener. Over seven complete game shutout innings, he allowed just two singles and four walks, and struck out two batters.

The Fisher Cats scored in the first on an RBI double from Brock Lundquist, and got two more run-scoring doubles from Christian Williams and Vinny Capra to extend the lead to 3-0 in the second inning.

Lundquist added an RBI single in the fifth to make it 4-0, and finished the game 3-for-3.

Nate Pearson started Game 2 with a scheduled two innings of work, and retired all six batters he faced with three strikeouts. In seven Double-A innings, the Blue Jays top pitching prospect has 11 strikeouts, no walks, and no runs allowed.

Reading's bats came to life after Pearson left the game. With the help of three walks, a hit batter, an error, and three hits, the Phils plated seven runs in the third inning, and added another with an Austin Listi RBI double in the fourth.

New Hampshire's lone run came home in the bottom of the fifth inning on an RBI single from Alberto Mineo.

The Fisher Cats and Fightin Phils will play for the series win on Wednesday morning at 10:35 a.m. as part of STEM in the Stadium, presented by Southern New Hampshire University.
