Rancho Cucamonga Quakes News Release
Rancho Cucamonga, CA - The Quakes used a strong all-around effort on Friday night, taking down the Visalia Rawhide by a final of 7-2 at LoanMart Field.
Luis Diaz had a huge day, with three hits, two RBIs and a career-high four stolen bases to lead the Quakes.
Rancho took an early 2-0 lead in the first, but Visalia starter Yilber Diaz (1-2) settled into a groove and kept Rancho off the board until two outs in the fourth, when Griffin Lockwood-Powell blasted a three-run homer to give them a 5-0 lead.
Rancho starter Benony Robles was solid, coming within one out of qualifying for a victory. With two outs in the fifth, Robles walked his second batter of the inning and gave way to Osvanny Gutierrez, who allowed a two-run double to Jordan Lawlar, as the Rawhide made it a 5-2 game.
The bullpen settled down the rest of the way though, as Carlos De Los Santos (3-0), Christian Suarez and Madison Jeffrey combined for four scoreless innings the rest of the way.
The Quakes (3-4, 39-34) will look for a second straight win on Saturday night, sending Jerming Rosario (2-4) to the mound against lefty Yaifer Perdomo (1-4) at 6:30pm.
Everyone will enjoy post-game Fireworks on Saturday, thanks to Tam's Burgers. Gates open at 5:30pm. Tickets are available at rcquakes.com. We hope to see you at LoanMart Field...Go Quakes!
