Jackson Generals News Release
(Jackson, TN) July 7th- Ronnie Merrill scored on a wild pitch in the top of the ninth inning to break a 3-3 tie as the Montgomery Biscuits went on to beat the Diamond Jaxx 4-3, sweeping the four game series at Pringles Park.
Merrill began the uprising in the ninth with a one out single off losing pitcher Craig James (1-4). After Erold Andrus lined out for the second out, left-hander Nick Hill came on to pitch to left-handed hitting John Jaso. Jaso walked and Chris Nowak walked to load the bases. Hill uncorked a wild pitch to the left of Jaxx catcher Adam Moore, scoring Merrill with what proved to be the winning run.
Ryan Reid got the win, despite blowing his first save of the year. Reid improves to 2-2 on the season. Merrill and Nowak had two hits each to lead the offense. Biscuits starter Jeremy Hellickson allowed a run on five hits over six innings in his third start in the Southern League.
