El Paso Diablos News Release

El Paso, TX- Despite a great start to the game, late inning mishaps stop the Diablos from taking the last game of their three game series with the Amarillo Sox, losing the game 14-3.

It was a great start to the game for the Diablos, starting pitcher Luis Chirinos was solid through the first six innings only giving up one run, as the Diablos took an early 1-0 lead, thanks to a first inning Maikol Gonzalez run. The Diablos later retook the lead after the Sox tied the game in the top of the fourth inning, thanks to a wild pitch from the Sox.

After taking a 2-1 lead going into the fifth inning, things drastically changed, as they Diablos gave up 12 runs in the next three innings, one in the fifth, none in the sixth, and 11 in the seventh, to go down 13-2. The Diablos eventually went on to lose the game, 14-3. Even though the Diablos had another tough loss tonight, the future looks bright, with the acquisitions of new players all across the board, the Diablos still have time to get acclimated and form some cohesiveness with this revamped roster, considering this 2013 season is still in bloom.

The Diablos are now 6-19 this season, and have finished their six game home stand, and three game series against the Amarillo Sox. The Diablos will now start a six game road trip before returning home on the 20th.
