Devin Wilson Returns After Almost Year Long Suspension
June 14, 2023 - National Arena League (NAL)
Jacksonville Sharks News Release
JACKSONVILLE, FL- Jacksonville added to its already intimidating roster by re-signing Devin Wilson this week. The wide receiver most recently played for the Sharks from 2017-2022.
Wilson is a three time All NAL Wide Receiver. In 2021, his last full season with the Sharks, he led the team in receiving yards (705) and scored 14 touchdowns.
He is also a two time NAL Champion. Both wins came with the Sharks in 2017 and 2019, bringing winning experience that the second place Sharks hope can take them far. Wilson is a former captain of the Sharks, proving he has the mentality to lead the team into a deep playoff run.
Jacksonville already leads this league in many offensive categories, including touchdowns (19), receiving yards (917) and average yards per game (114.6), all by Kamrin Solomon. Jenson Stoshak is third in the league in touchdowns, with 10. The addition of Wilson, who has already proven his worth and talent, can only boost an already offensively talented roster.
In a July 2022 game against San Antonio, Wilson was suspended for running into an official during play. The next time he takes the field for the Sharks, will be his first game back from this almost year long suspension.
The Tennessee native attended Tennessee State University where he totaled 935 yards over four seasons at the school.
