Robin Lehner saved all 18 shots by Albany in the second.
Hugh Jessiman kicked off the third period for the B-Sens putting the puck past Devil's goaltender Jeff Frazee on a penalty shot, giving the B-Sens a two-goal lead. Albany answered back as Matt Anderson slipped one past Lehner at 5:24 in the third with an assist from goalie Frazee, putting Albany on the score sheet with the B-Sens still leading 2-1. Half-way through the third period, Devils center Philip DeSimone tied the game at two with the help of Eric Gelinas and Tim Sestito.
Both the B-Sens and the Devils were kept scoreless through the five-minute overtime period.
