Devils Agree to Terms with F Nick Lappin

Newark, NJ - The Devils have agreed to terms with forward Nick Lappin on a two- year, entry-level contract. The announcement was made by Devils' Executive Vice President/General Manager Ray Shero.

The contract will begin with the 2016-17 season; and he will currently report to the Albany Devils (AHL) on an Amateur Try-Out agreement.

Lappin, 23, recently finished a four-year career at Brown University (ECAC). In 2015-16 he led the Bears in goals (17) and points (33), finished third in assists (16) and was named to the All-Ivy League First Team at the conclusion of the season.

He finished his 123-game collegiate career with 51 goals and 55 assists for 106 points, while accumulating 79 penalty minutes. He served as Assistant Captain during his final two seasons. While at Brown, he played with his cousin, Tim, and current Albany Devils forward, Matt Lorito.

Lappin spent three seasons, 2009-12, in the USHL, split between Cedar Rapids and Tri- City.

The 6-1, 175lb., right-handed shooter was born on November 1, 1992 in Geneva, IL. He is the son of former NHLer Peter Lappin, who played for the North Stars and Sharks.
