Detroit Waza Flo Partners with Local Charity to Support Wounded Vets Charity

(Detroit, MI) The Detroit Waza Flo is honored to announce a partnership with a locally run, grass-roots charity, "Hooligans For Heroes", that help support local wounded veterans and the Wounded Warrior Project.

Starting with their home opener on Saturday, November 9 at 7:05 p.m., Detroit Waza Flo will be raising money for the Hooligans For Heroes, who help support the Wounded Warrior Project -a national nonprofit organization that provides programs and services, to injured service members, during the time between active duty and transition to civilian life.

A portion of the proceeds from the November 9th home opening game against The Harrisburg Heat, will go to Hooligans For Heroes. The Detroit Waza Flo will also donate a portion of the proceeds from the special edition, Detroit Waza Flo/Hooligans For Heroes 2013-2014 season pass cards, to Hooligans For Heroes. Hooligans For Heroes will also be selling their merchandise at all Detroit Waza Flo games this season, to help fund their noble cause.

When asked about this new partnership with the Detroit Waza Flo, Gene Butcher, President of Hooligans For Heroes, stated, "We are extremely grateful for the outpouring of generosity of the entire Waza community and their dedication to our nation's wounded veterans." Dominic Scicluna, owner/player/coach of the Detroit Waza Flo had this to say about the Hooligans For Heroes collaboration, "When you play professional soccer, you have a lot of pride representing the city you love. But when you can help to support those who have given so much to all of us . . . that feeling means so much more. We really hope all of our fans, both old and new, come out to our games to see this high level of soccer and help us raise a lot of money for this wonderful charity, in the process."
